2d6 News : Important Change To Club Opening Times

From Friday 3rd July, the club’s opening time will change to 7pm-10pm. This change of time will be for the foreseeable future.

We’ve made this decision as a lot of people were unable to make it down before 7pm anyway and we feel we need to meet the needs of the majority of our players. We apologise if this causes any inconvenience and we hope to continue to see you down at the club on Friday nights.

We still have eight 6’x4′ tables available in this one timeslot and we will still have the ability to book tables, so it is advisable to pre-book them in the week on the Facebook page to guarantee a space. Although, you can still just turn up on the night if you prefer!

We are also looking to get some more scenery and to fix some of the damaged pieces that we already have.

Entry is still £3.50 for the night and that also gives you 3 months of membership to the club. Membership means that you can get 20% off Warlord Games, 4ground and Mantic, plus others. A reduced fee of £2 is still applicable if you’re not come down to play, but are modelling instead.

We’re also planning on running an intro night at least once a month, in each of which we will be showcasing a game for you to try out. There is no charge for playing an intro game (although donations are always welcome!). For this reason, we are also looking for members who want to show off their games, as this will give you the chance to get new opponents to play against! Get in touch with on Facebook or send us an email! Or, just check out the events section soon for what’s coming up.

On top of all that, because we all like gaming snacks, we have set up the tuck shop at the club with crisps, chocolate and cans of drink. All items will be priced at 50p each.

We hope to see you all down with us soon!

2d6 Lodge: Online Again!

We’ve not been good at updating our website much lately, but we have been doing some reogranisation and we are now having another go at it!

We’ll be updating these pages with some of the content that we’ve missed in our “dark period” (or should I say “Long Night”? or “Dark Age”?) over the next couple of weeks.

In the mean time, why not come and talk to us on our 2d6 Lodge Facebook Page, drop us an email at 2d6lodge@gmail.com, contact us on twitter @lodge_2d6 or come and see us in person on a Friday night at 2d6 Lodge – details here!

We look forward to meeting you!

Games Played at 2d6 Lodge : 4th July 2014

A selection of the games played at 2d6 Lodge club on the evening of Friday 4th July 2014.

We’re always happy to show people how to play games as well as just talk about what we like about them.  This week, our resident Chaos Acolyte ran through the rules of Warhammer 40,000 with a new starter to the game – but it wasn’t the only game we played at the club this Friday. Warhammer, Necromunda and X-Wing games were all being played as well!

If you’re in the Cambridge area and like playing games like these, come and join us! Find out how to do so on our contact page.

A Random Assortment of 2d6 Miniatures

Thanks to the photograph skills of regular club member O Doză we can present to you a gallery of a random selection of 2d6 miniatures owned by the members of the 2d6 Lodge club. Many thanks to O Doză for bringing down his mini photography studio for the night!

OK, I realise that there are more than 2d6 miniatures below, but I meant miniatures from the 2d6 Lodge members, not roll 2d6 and that is how many miniatures you get to see! 😉

If you’ve got pictures of your minis that you use at the club you want to have uploaded to this blog, do get in touch!

2d6 Apocalypse : December 2013

Every few months, when we have enough people to stage it, we have a night where we have a Warhammer 40,000 Apocalypse game.  Here is a small gallery of photos from the 2d6 Apocalypse game we had in December 2013.

Our apologies for it being such a small gallery this time!  We rather concentrated on having fun rather than taking photos!

We’ll update this post when we remember who won! :)

2d6 Lodge Warhammer 40,000 League

We are currently in the middle of our first Warhammer 40,000 league tournament at 2d6 Lodge.

A Warhammer 40,000 Game
A game of Warhammer 40,000

We’ve been a little bit blindsided by the new edition 7th Edition of Warhammer 40,000 being released, but we’ve decided to stick with it and see out the competition as a last hurrah to 6th Edition!

We’ve got four divisions, each with four players and we’re using 1750 point lists.  We’re in the middle of playing the three other players in our divisions twice each and when we’re done, the top two coaches in each division will go into a knock-out tournament to determine the overall winner, who will also win a small prize!

We’re expecting to start another 40,000 League in the autumn, when we’ll be using the new 7th Edition rules and there may be a few format changes, as we look to improve the league experience for players.

We use a Facebook group called Cambridge: Warhammer 40,000, to help us arrange games with other coaches. So, if you want to know more Contact Us via any of the usual methods, or visit us on Facebook.

2d6 Lodge Bloodbowl League, Season 2

We are currently in the middle of the second season of our Bloodbowl League at 2d6 Lodge.

Bloodbowl League being played out at 2d6 Lodge.
Bloodbowl being played at 2d6 Lodge.

Our reigning 2d6 Lodge Bloodbowl champion of Season 1, is Coach Dan with his Dark Elves, the Seal Teasers (No, me neither!) who are the only returning team to Season 2, with all of the other coaches electing to re-start new teams for the new season.

The league format we follow, set down by our league commissioner, Commissioner Steve, is that we face each other team in our division twice. There is no fixed order to the games, but all games must be completed by the end of the season. For Season 2, this is at the end of the day, Friday 27th June 2014. The top two teams from each division with then go into a knock-outcup competiton to determine the overall season winner!

We’re expecting to take a three month break over the summer before Season 3 starts, so plenty of time to get in touch, or get in some practice games with other coaches at 2d6 Lodge!

We also use a Facebook group called Cambridge: Bloodbowl, to help us arrange games with other coaches. So, if you want to know more Contact Us via any of the usual methods, or visit us on Facebook.
